Vitek MS Prime Lab Equipment and Maintenance for the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR)

Description: The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), Fort Detrick, MD intends to negotiate a sole source firm fixed priced award utilizing Simplified Acquisition Procedures, IAW FAR 13.5, to BioMerieux, Inc. The objective of this requirement is to Purchase Vitek MS Prime Matrix assisted laser desorption ionization – time of flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectrometry system and four (4) years of service and maintenance for WRAIR’s Bacterial Disease Branch (BDB); which does the testing for the Multidrug-resistant Organism Repository and Surveillance Network (MRSN) under the Department of Defense (DoD).

WRAIR has a need to be able to purchase a new bioMerieux Vitek MS Prime System that is compatible with existing equipment and provide continuity of operation within the BDB laboratory. This notice of intent is for information purposes only. All sources eligible to provide this service must respond in writing. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly articulate the ability to provide services outlined above.

A request for documentation will not be considered as an affirmative response. If no responses are received, within 15 days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable services are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining these services through a sole-source contract, then a sole source acquisition award will be made.
