Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI)/Technical Assistance Field Team (TAFT) has a requirement to replace the Lower Units for two (2) interceptor size vessels. These vessels operate in level 3 to level 5 sea states and varying river conditions. The PNs conducts extensive maritime operations enforcing countries maritime laws, with special emphasis on illicit drug trafficking.

Other law enforcement duties include enforcement of immigration, customs, fisheries, and wildlife protection laws and on-scene coordinator for maritime search and rescue. The new Mercury engine will enable the PN’s personnel to increase operational hours and increase crew safety during adverse sea conditions. This is a BRAND NAME (Mercury) requirement.
