The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with AB Sciex LLC Redwood City, CA 94065. The RTB Protein Chemistry Section (PCS) enables intramural NIAID investigators to use state-of-the-art applications in mass spectrometry, bioinformatics, chromatographic purification and analysis, protein sequencing and spectrophotometric analysis of peptides, proteins and small molecules in their research programs.

The RTB PCS currently provides mass spectrometry services on a daily basis for all NIAID investigators and the Q-Trap6500+ Mass Spectrometer and Qtraip 7500 are an integral part of this effort. This instrument is in use on a daily basis and if it malfunctioned due to lack of maintenance, mechanical or electronic failure the ability of the investigators in the DIR to conduct their research would be severely handicapped. It is for this reason that a Service Agreement is essential from this sole distributor.

All responsible sources that could provide this product may submit a capability statement along with a letter of authorization to resell to be considered by 12:00 pm September 5, 2024. All required documents must be submitted via the NIAID electronic Simplified Acquisition Submission System (eSASS) website at https://esass.nih.gov. All responses received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
