Description
As published on SAM.gov.
This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate an other than full and open competition basis with HAMAMATSU, 360 FOOTHILL ROAD, BRIDGEWATER, NJ 08807-0910, United States, to procure NANOZOOMER S60 FLUORESCENCE UPGRADE KIT.
The Laboratory of Allergic Diseases (LAD) conducts basic and clinical research on allergic diseases including food allergy, eosinophilic esophagitis, mastocytosis, and asthma. The LAD utilizes a variety of histological techniques to characterize and quantify the immunopathology associated with allergic diseases.
The ability to convert glass slide tissue images to digital images that allow objective evaluation, quantification, cataloging, and long-term storage of high-quality images is essential to the mission of the LAD and consistent with the recent mandate to utilize electronic laboratory notebooks. The LAD owns Hamamatsu NanoZoomer Brightfield Slide Scanner system (S/N 00230) for sensitive, high-resolution, automated, high throughput scanning and digitizing of glass slides.
To add the base unit field upgraded to fluorescence slide scanning by the addition of a multi-color fluorescence Imaging Module, filter sets, camera board, and software to match that currently being used by NIAID’s RTB’s Imaging Core Facility. This will allow us to overlay multiple brightfield and fluorescence images for objective and quantitative combined biomarker analysis including multiple antigens colocalized within the same subcellular compartment. This includes RNAScope tissue sections.
