Annual Premium Maintenance and Support for Multiple Zeiss Microscopes

NOI-NIAID-24-2217996 NAICS – 811210 This is a Notice of Intent, NOT a request for proposal. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate on an other than full and open competition basis with Carl Zeiss Microscopy, LLC for Premium Service Contracts for multiple microscopes located at various labs.

Period of Performance: July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2024 Place of Delivery-Multiple Locations Bethesda, MD 20892, Rockville, MD 20852 and Hamilton, MT 59840 The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 1901 (a) (1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1 only one responsible source and no other supply of service will satisfy agency requirements. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL.

All responsible sources that could provide this product may submit a capability statement along with a letter of authorization to resell to be considered by 10:00 am May 24, 2024. All required documents must be submitted via the NIAID electronic Simplified Acquisition Submission System (eSASS) website at https://esass.nih.gov. All vendors must register in the eSASS system to submit their documentation. Instructions on how to register /submit documents are included on the website.

All responses received by the closing date of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.

Description of Need Premium Protect Service Agreement for eight (8) confocal microscopes Zeiss models LSM 700- serial #2601000490, LSM 780- serial #2505000104, LSM 710 - serial #2501000211, LSM 880- serial #2811000262, LSM 880 - serial #2802000114, Microbeam IV/Axio Observer – serial #1214000645, LSM 710- serial #2501000174, Axio Scan.Z1 serial#4631001043 that will maintain the microscopes in optimal operating condition.

These microscopes are constantly in use throughout the day and if it were put out of action due to lack of maintenance or mechanical failure the ability of the investigators in DIR to conduct their research would be severely handicapped. It is for this reason that a renewal service agreement is essential with the manufacturer's certified engineers. Invoicing monthly or quarterly in arrears.
