Notice to Sole Source - Globus

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Gaithersburg MD; intents to sole source to University of Chicago. Globus Connect is open-source software for grid computing developed by the Globus Alliance. The Globus Alliance is an international association founded by the University of Chicago and the Argonne National Laboratory dedicated to developing fundamental technologies needed to build grid computing infrastructures. Globus software is available only through the University of Chicago.

There are no third-party providers. No other vendor can provide the software, add-on features and support required by this acquisition. NIST uses Globus Connect software to transfer and share research data with collaborators from universities and Government National Laboratories. NIST has the need to renew its Globus subscription so NIST may continue to perform fundamental duties while receiving license maintenance support services. Period of Performance is for one year of service from 9/12/2024 – 9/11/2025.

NAICS Code is 513210 Software Publishers with small business size standard of $47M. This notice of intent is not a request for proposals or quotes; however, all responsible sources may submit their alternate software suggestions. Responses must be received within 10 calendar days of publication of this notice. All responses must be submitted to the Government point of contact at the e-mail address shown below. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
