Notice of Intent to Sole Source - FARO Laser Tracker Calibration/Maintenance

The Commander Fleet Readiness Center (COMFRC) hereby gives notice of thier intent toaward a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order to FARO Technologies, Inc. on a sole source basis. In accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 8.405-6(a) (C), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) FARO Laser Tracker Preventative Maintenance and Calibration COMFRC requires annual maintenance service agreement on three (3) FARO Laser Trackers, Model number CKIT-04309-000-00, to include calibration services and repairs to bring the equipment to fully operational condition.

FARO is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the Laser Trackers, and retains all the proprietary /technical data rights required in order to provide the necessary calibration and repair services. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within prior to the closing of this synopsis, will be considered.

Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement without impacting the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
