N66001-21-P-6210 – Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source Contract Modification to Crafted Metals, Inc.

Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific (NIWC Pacific) intends to award a Non-Commercial Firm-Fixed-Price FAR 13 purchase order modification on a non-competitive basis to Crafted Metals, Inc. of Spring Valley, CA (CAGE Code: 62024). This modification is to increase the scope of the purchase order to provide for additional repair services and necessary parts to fix elements of an Antenna Pattern Range (APR) fiber-reinforced plastic (FRP) arch-structure related to the original requirement under N66001-21-P-6210.

Crafted Metals has been continuously involved with the FRP arch since the early days of its inception. They have first-hand source of corporate memory of how the arch was constructed and provided maintenance and minor repairs on the APR; even developing special tools and equipment. Additionally, Crafted Metals' architectural design knowledge and experience with the FRP material uniquely qualifies them to make the necessary repairs to remove the strain on the fractured areas by adding structural FRP members.

This contract modification is anticipated to be awarded as a Firm Fixed-Price Contract type with a 5-month period of performance beginning on the day of modification execution. The anticipated contract modification award date is 31 JAN 2024. The applicable NAICS Code is 334419 "Other Electronic Component Manufacturing" with a business size standard is 750 Employees. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any firm believing that it can perform these services may be considered by the agency. Interested parties may identify its interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis, and must clearly demonstrate the firm's ability to be responsive without compromising the quality, accuracy, and reliability of services provided.
