The United States Department of the Naval Medical Research Command (NMRC) intends to award a sole source contract to, Biomerieux, Inc., Salt Lake City, UT 84108. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals however If interested Government shall consider all responses.

The Genomics Department of the Biological Defense Research Directorate, Naval Medical Research Command, maintains a state-of-the-art phage therapy research portfolio aimed at ultimately providing medical countermeasures for the fleet. As part of this program, pan- and multiple-drug resistant bacterial isolates are routinely used in the laboratory to isolate and propagate bacteriophages under study.

As part of this on-going effort, the Vitek 2 Compact 60 provides the capability to identify the bacterial strains and determine the antibiograms of the various clinical isolates used. It will be utilized to characterize individual clinical isolates and then select phages for the treatment to overcome antibiotic resistance. The requirement is for a Vitek 2 Compact 60, Vitek Part # 4700734, Qty-1ea/ description is as follows:
