The supplies and services to be acquired include a mailing system and data hosting services that meet current security requirements for use within the BUMED HQ network as mandated by government standards. The mailing systems must comply with the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) guidelines, and US Postal Service General Services Administration Schedule 48 for commercial pricing.

The mailing systems will also adhere to security standards protecting Personally Identifiable Information (PII). Specifically, the mailing systems will be hosted on a FedRAMP certified cloud hosting system, with the contractor responsible for data hosting and security in compliance with FedRAMP authorization. The data generated by the mailing system must be compatible and integrated with the existing BUMED HQ mailing systems.

The mailing system components include power cords, consoles, scales, printers, workstations, meters, support, maintenance, and enterprise licensing agreements for all equipment and software. The enterprise software associated with the system will facilitate obtaining commercial pricing and operate as a single integrated system.
