Notice of Intent - Sole Source

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for SKF Transducer inspection and repair services. The NAICS code is 811210 and the Product/Service Code is J066. The proposed purchase order is being solicited on a sole-source basis to SKF Osterreich AG via local reseller Jamaica Bearings. The proposed action is for maintenance services for an SKF transducer for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii).

The basis for restricting competition is for the following reason: Jamaica Bearings is the only local reseller for SKF brand items. The NSWCCD intends to award a firm fixed-price purchase order to Jamaica Bearings using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Interested parties may identify their interest to this requirement by submitting a capabilities statement no later than 9/24/24. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals.

However, all responses received by 9/24/24 at 2:00 PM EST will be considered by the Government. Any questions must be received via e-mail by 9/21/24 at 2:00 PM EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
