Special Notice N0016424SNB80 Agency:

Department of the Navy Office:

Naval Sea Systems Command Location:

NSWC Crane Division Classification Code:

6120 NAICS Code:

335311 Response Due Date: June 21 2024 Request for Solutions Output Travelling Wave Tube High Voltage Power Supply Group Prototyping Effort PURPOSE The Request for Solutions (RFS) is seeking a solution to increase the operational reliability of a Radio Frequency (RF) Output Travelling Wave Tube (OTWT) High Voltage Power Supply Group (HVPS), while also seeking to enhance the reparability, maintainability, and affordability of the asset.

The result of this effort will be to design and prototype a form/fit/function replacement of the current RF HVPS Group. The US Navy (USN) desires a HVPS that addresses the current reliability issues.

The Government will evaluate the solutions with the intent of awarding an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) in accordance with 10 U.S. Code § 4022. 2. BACKGROUND AND SUMMARY 2.1 S2MARTS Vendors interested in responding to this RFS must be members of the Strategic & Spectrum Missions Advanced Resilient Trusted Systems (S2MARTS) consortium. Interested parties may visit S2MARTS.org for membership information. This project will be managed by a Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division Project Manager.

2.2 PROJECT OVERVIEW The current HVPS group is used in an USN avionics RF transmitter system. This group consists of three (3) Shop Replaceable Assemblies (SRAs), and the redesign needs to be done as a group. The HVPS currently has limited capability to repair or remove/replace faulty components due to inefficient circuit layout and excessive use of potting material. The current HVPS Group also does not have adequate self-protections to prevent damage to itself nor prevent cascading failures to related SRAs. The desired cost-effective solution must also be maintainable and repairable. Please visit the S2MARTS website at Home Page - S2MARTS to review the full RFS.
