27 February 2024 – Closing Date: 12 March 2024 – 4:00 PM EDT SOURCES SOUGHT: In accordance with Federal Acquisitions Regulation (FAR) 15.201(e), the Government is issuing the Sources Sought announcement as part of the market research. The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC-CR) is seeking information for market research purposes for the procurement of boot assemblies to be used in the production of TR-343 Sonar Transducers.

The Government has a requirement for the manufacture, assembly, inspection and test, and production of TR-343 Transducer Boot Assemblies is accepting information regarding capabilities from companies potentially capable of meeting the requirements as described above.

BACKGROUND: NSWC-CR has been tasked with procuring TR-343 Boot Assemblies is a critical component of the TR-343 Transducer used in the AN/SQS-53C Hull Mounted Sonar Array Subsystem for the AN/SQQ-89(V) Acoustic Sonar Weapons (ASW) System. The Boot Assembly works in conjunction with the ceramic stack assembly to provide the required piezoelectric characteristics to produce mechanical motion in the water for generation of sonar signals when a large voltage is applied.
