FY25 Engineering Support Services

Strategic Systems Programs (SSP) issued a Request for Proposal and negotiated a contract on a sole-source basis with Battelle Memorial Institute (Battelle), of Columbus, Ohio to provide highly specialized engineering and program management services. These services support the Trident II facility operations, D5LE2 missile production and operational planning, D5LE-2 missile technologies, and flight test support efforts.

This effort requires in-depth and direct knowledge of the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) and D5 Life Extension (D5LE) components. Consequently, SSP solicited and negotiated per the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) (FAR Subsection 6.302-1 – Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). SSP awarded a Cost Plus Fixed Fee, one (1) year base contract for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 with a total of four (4) option year periods. For FY2026 through FY2029.

Security Clearance Required. Each LOE line item is estimated to cover a twelve (12) month period of performance and will include option provisions to increase the LOE up to thirty percent (30%), in accordance with SSP terms and conditions. Battelle is the only known source with the direct critical experience, expertise, personnel, and in-depth knowledge of the TRIDENT program required to perform the subject effort.
