Detail Design and Construction of Fleet Replenishment Oiler (T-AO 205 Class)

The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) awarded fixed-price-incentive-firm-target block buy contract N00024-24-C-2301 to General Dynamics – National Steel and Shipbuilding Company for the procurement of eight John Lewis Class Fleet Replenishment Oiler Ships, T-AOs 214 – 221. T-AO Fleet Replenishment Oilers will be operated by Military Sealift Command to provide diesel fuel, and lubricating oil, jet fuel for aircraft, and small quantities of fresh and frozen provisions, and stores, and potable water to Navy ships at sea, and jet fuel for aircraft.

The T-AOs will add capacity to the Navy’s Combat Logistics Force and become the cornerstone of the fuel delivery system. This contract was not competitively procured in accordance with 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(3), Industrial mobilization; engineering, developmental, or research capability; or expert services.???
