The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded a sole-source Advanced Acquisition Contract (AAC) modification N0001924C0019 P00002 to General Electric Aviation Lynn, MA, for the procurement of long-lead items in support of Lot 10 Full Rate Production T408 Engines for the CH-53K Helicopter Program. This procurement was procured in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition under 10 U.S.C.

2304(c)(l), as implemented by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-l(a)(2), "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." GE is the only known source possessing the requisite knowledge, technical expertise, special skills, technical data, facilities, and experience to develop and produce the unique components required to integrate the engine on the CH-53K.
