Synopsis for P-8A Poseidon Mission Seats

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to issue a sole source contract modification to Martin-Baker America Inc., Johnstown, PA for Fiscal Year (FY) 25 P-8A Poseidon Mission Seats in support of Lot 13. This procurement is for twenty-four (24) Mission Seats shipsets and related support with the inclusion of two (2) option years for a maximum of fifteen (15) additional ship sets per each option year.

These requirements will be procured in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition under Title 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, "Only One Responsible Source and No other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements."

Martin-Baker America, Inc. is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the P-8A Poseidon Mission Seats, and therefore is the only contractor with the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical data that can meet the Government requirements on a timely basis.
