Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) II - US-FMS Conversion for Additional Quantities and Options

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) PMA-242, Patuxent River, Maryland issued Firm Fixed Price Delivery Order N0001924F0567 under Basic Ordering Agreement N0001921G0003 to BAE Systems Information & Electronic Systems Integration Inc. on a sole-source basis for coversion of 960 domestic Rotary Wing (P/N:

8444450-1), Fixed Wing (P/N: 8508671-1), APKWS WGU-59/B guidance sections into Foreign Military Sales (FMS)

Rotary Wing (P/N: 8497980-1), WGU-59/B guidance sections; establish options for the conversion of up to 3,000 domestic Rotary Wing (P/N:

8444450-1), Fixed Wing (P/N: 8508671-1), APKWS WGU-59/B guidance sections into FMS Rotary Wing (P/N: 8497980-1), WGU-59/B guidance sections units; and establish options to replace the Wing Slot Seal (WSS) for certain units. This is in support of the Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) II program. This action was awarded on a sole source basis to BAE Systems in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition under Title 10 U.S.C.

3204(a)(1), as implemented by FAR Part 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." BAE Systems is the sole designer, developer, and producer of the APKWS II and is the only known source that possesses the requisite knowledge and expertise required to provide the work described above. Also, BAE Systems is the only source that possesses the totality of engineering and technical data required to perform these efforts.
