This notice announces the intent by the U.S. Army Medical Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), Fort Detrick, Maryland, 21702, to award a sole source Firm-Fixed-Price (FFP) Contract to Biomerieux, Inc., under the statutory authority 13.501(a). The contract is for the purchase of additional Biomerieux reagents and supplies in order to operate their existing Biomerieux Vitek 2 Compact analyzer at NMRTC Yokosuka and Branch Health Clinic at Iwakuni (BHC Iwakuni).

Biomerieux is the sole manufacturer and seller of the above listed reagents and supplies. NMRTC Yokosuka and BHC Iwakuni each own a Biomerieux Vitek 2 Compact Analyzer, and the reagents being requested are the only reagents that are compatible with their Vitek 2 Compact Analyzers. Therefore, Biomerieux is the only vendor capable of meeting the needs of the Government, as it is the only known source to provide these reagents with no known distributors or resellers. Therefore, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), Biomerieux, Inc. is the only responsible source of meeting the needs of NMRTC and BHC’s requirements.

Period of Performance:

Base Period: 01 October 2025 through 30 September 2026 Option Period: 01 October 2026 through 30 September 2027 The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 325413 and the size standard is 1,250 Employees. This announcement fulfills the synopsis requirements under FAR 5.102(a)(6) and 5.203(a). USAMRAA intends to award a contract no sooner than 15 days after publishing this synopsis. This Special Request for Information is not a request for competitive quotes.

Information received in response to this notice will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government. If no written responses are received by the expiration date listed in this notice, which reflects at least fifteen (15) days after the publication of this notice, the award will be issued as sole source.
