Notice of Intent - Sole Source for Next Generation Sequencing for Illumina Reagents for HLA Typing and Organ Transplantation

The Defense Health Agency (DHA) Healthcare Contracting Division Northeast (HCD-NE), on behalf of the Surgery-Organ Transplant Service Department of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) intends to award a firm fixed price contract on a sole source basis to Illumina, Inc. (CAGE Code 1WCS2). This will be to provide Next Generation Sequencing reagents for high resolution analysis for organ transplant donors and recipients.

The MiniSeq Mid Output Kit and PhiX Control v3 will be acquired and used with the Illumina equipment. The anticipated award will be made under the statutory authority permitting “Other than full and Open Competition” in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) “Soliciting from a Single Source for Purchases not exceeding the Simplified Acquisition Threshold.” This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals or quotations.

Requests for copies of a solicitation in response to this notice will not be honored or acknowledged. Phone calls will not be accepted. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed action based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether conducting a competitive procurement is in the best interest of the Government.
