Repair of KC-135 Altitude Alerter, Altimeter, Air Data Computer & Air Speed Indicator

The Commodities Contracting Branch at Tinker Air Force Base, OK (AFSC/PZABA) intends to award a contract for he use of other than full and open competition procedures to obtain a new commercial follow-on sole source firm-fixed price requirements-type contract to repair Altitude Alerter; Altimeter; Air Data Computer and Air Speed Indicator applicable to the KC-135 Weapon System. This is not a bridge action.

The contemplated contract is for a repair service from Innovative Solutions & Support Inc. (IS&S)Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code 0EUW0. A 1-year basic contract with six 1-year options is considered to be appropriate for this acquisition.

The estimated total value of this award is $5,957,402.00 with an estimated award date of Sep 2025. If a contract is not awarded by Sep 2025 Mission Impaired Capability Awaiting Parts (MICAP) will quickly follow resulting in the grounding of mission critical aerial refueling capabilities.

6605-01-457-0162: Displays Barometric corrected Altitude. Pointer makes one revolution per 100 ft. Dials indicate altitude in 10,000 ft, 1,000 ft, and 100s of feet.

6610-01-469-7873: Pressure detecting barometer calibrated to indicate feet of altitude instead of air pressure. Displays aircraft altitude in reference to sea level.

6610-01-526-9850: The Central Air Data Computer (CADC) is a microprocessor-controlled digital computer that processes air data inputs received from various sources and provides data to other subsystems.

6610-01-526-9851: Provides the speed of the aircraft in relation to the air mass surrounding that aircraft. This is displayed to the pilot in nautical miles per hour. ISO 9000 will be utilized. There an no known differences between terms and conditions offered to the government versus commercial customers.
