Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Multigas Analyzers (MGA)

AFTC/PZIA located at Arnold AFB, TN intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, MKS Instruments, Inc., (CAGE Code 23582), to meet the Government’s requirement for four Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Multigas Analyzers (MGA) with the following included part numbers: 2030GACA1AFZK1XX, 1045420-001, MG2000, and MGREF-VEHICLE.

The authority found at 10 USC 3204(a)(1) applies to this acquisition, which states "The head of an agency may use procedures other than competitive procedures only when the property or services needed by the agency are available from only one source or only from a limited number of responsible source and no other type of property or service will satisfy the needs of the agency."

Based on preliminary market research efforts, the Contracting Officer has determined that only one source, MKS Instruments, Inc., is reasonably available to meet the subject commercial requirement. NAICS code 334516, Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing will be used for this procurement.
