The 48th Contracting Squadron at Royal Air Force (RAF) Lakenheath, United Kingdom, seeks feedback and sources from companies capable of providing non-personal services for a Medical Material Technician at the 48th Medical Group (MDG), supporting RAF Lakenheath and RAF Feltwell, in accordance with the attached draft Performance Work Statement (PWS).
Background: The 48th MDG requires logistics support for its warehouse and office personnel. This position will serve as a Supply Technician, providing critical operations support for medical supply items. The duties include forward logistics, stocking, selecting, and storing medical supplies, supply turn-in, and managing medical group vehicles. The contractor will be responsible for storing, selecting, shipping, and delivering general and specialized bulk materials and equipment to ensure the seamless operation of the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF).
Response Guidelines: This is a Request for Information (RFI) for market research and planning purposes only. This notice does not constitute a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) or Request for Quote (RFQ). No contract will be awarded from this posting. The Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI. All costs associated with responding to this RFI will be solely at the interested party's expense. Please submit responses electronically to the points of contact contained herein by the response suspense.
Information Requested from Interested Parties: Please review the attached draft PWS and state whether the scope of the work is clear? Identify any language that is ambiguous, confusing, or may unnecessarily increase costs, and provide suggestions. The PWS requires proficiency in automated systems for inventory management and the ability to operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks). What is your company's experience in providing personnel with these technical skills?
The role involves the specialized handling, documentation, and shipment of hazardous materials (HAZMAT) in compliance with all government, federal, and international regulations. Please describe your company's experience and procedures for ensuring compliance in HAZMAT logistics. The technician will be responsible for maintaining comprehensive inventory control and warehouse optimization.
What quality control methods and systems does your company typically use to ensure inventory accuracy and efficiency meet standards such as 98% accuracy? Please provide your company’s information: name, address, phone number, CAGE code, and Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). Please indicate your company's business size and any socioeconomic categories (e.g., small business, woman-owned, etc.). What is a realistic timeframe (in calendar days) that would be required to respond to a formal Request for Quote (RFQ) for this type of service?
