673 SFS Blue Force Drone

Due to the terrain and topography at JBER vehicle and pedestrian access is limited to certain locations caused by the presence of vegetation and rugged terrain. Due to these limitations and the presence of hostile wildlife search and recovery operations are often delayed and place responding personnel in dangerous situations.

To combat these limiting factors the 673 SFS is requesting procurement of a small unmanned aerial system (sUAS) with CCTV and thermal imaging capabilities to aid in the detection of personnel and/or wildlife involved in incidents on JBER. Due to National Defense Authorization Act security restrictions, drones must be registered on the Defense Innovation Unit (DIU) Blue List.
