Notice of Intent: Sole Source Justification Backrest Seat Cushion

The 28th Contracting Squadron Ellsworth AFB, South Dakota intends to award a sole source contract to Coastal Seat Cushion, Inc..

APPLICABILITY OF AUTHORITY: The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition for this acquistion is the Federal Acquistion Regulation (FAR) and the Departement of the Air Force Federal Acquistion Regulation Supplement, FAR 13.106-1(b) justifies limiting the source if the contracting officer determines the curcumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available.

The attached sole source justification outlines the Contracting Officers justification and reasoning to award a sole source award to Coast Seat Cushions, Inc.. This is a Sole Source Justification supporting the acquistion of the Backrest Seat Cushion requirement for Ellsworth AFB, SD. Only one manufacture is authorized, via Air Force Technical Order instructions, to provide the required equipment. The sole source is for the manufacture and their execlusive distributor of the items being procured. See attached justification document.
