This sources sought synopsis announcement does not constitute a formal solicitation and is not a request for proposal, request for quote, invitation for bid, does not obligate the government to award a contract, issue a solicitation, reimburse respondents for any proposal preparation and/or submittal costs, nor does its issuance in any way restrict the Government as to its ultimate acquisition approach.
The Government will not pay for any materials provided in response to this notice and submittals will not be returned to the sender. The United States Air Force, 7th Contracting Squadron, located on Dyess Air Force Base, in Abilene Texas is seeking potential sources capable of providing manufacturing of a Breathing air recharging system meeting the below characteristics. Subject to NAICS 333912 Air and Gas Compressor Manufacturing. The minimum requirements are as follows:
High-pressure breathing air compressor capable of delivering at least 6000 PSI to fill SCBA cylinders Air quality meeting NFPA 1989 standard for breathing air quality Multi-stage filtration system with moisture separators, oil separators, and CO/CO2 removal Cascade storage system capable of holding at least 2 cylinders with a capacity of 6000 PSI Weather resistant trailer (on which all elements of the system must be mounted/stored/operated) equipped with all appropriate attachments/accessories to meet DOT regulations Powered by either an electric or engine-driven motor, suitable for both stationary and mobile use An efficient cooling system which would ensure continuous operation in high-temperature environments User-friendly control panel with digital readouts for pressure, temperature, and operational status.
Include automatic shut-off, pressure relief valves, and emergency stop mechanisms. Must be certified to meet or exceed OSHA, NFPA, and ANSI standards for safety and performance. Easy access for maintenance with recommended service intervals and parts readily available Provide on-site training for operators and maintenance personnel Interested firms are invited to submit a Statement of Capability (SOC) showing the company's ability to fulfill the requirement above.
It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. This is not a solicitation, nor will a solicitation be issued as a result of this announcement, and no award shall be made as a result of this letter. In the event that a solicitation is developed, it will be assigned a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) number or Request for Quotation (RFQ), and the announcement may be published on SAM.gov.
Responses to this letter will assist the government in identifying potential sources and determining if a sole source or set-aside of the solicitation is appropriate. Firms responding to this announcement should include company name, cage code, point of contact, address, phone number. The Government reserves the right to set-aside any subsequent acquisition based upon known sources and/or responses to this synopsis.
