Question: For the Bauer Air Compressor, this is a very large piece of equipment. Freight forwarders are not able to get the cargo to the Azores. One has asked if it possible for the USG to take possession of the compressor in Vigo, Spain. If that is not possible, is it possible to utilize USG transportation from the US (i.e. deliver to a DLA point of embarkment on the US East Coast).

Answer: The only accepted delivery destination for the Mobile Air Compressor is Lajes Field, Terceira Island, Azores Portugal.

Question: Can you please clarify the training that is desired?

Answer: Training required should focus on Operation/inspection, periodic maintenance, oil changes, filter changes, Air samples and should have in to consideration the fact that we’re in a remote location where we have to be self-sufficient, therefore incorporate any other related specifications. A total of twelve (12) individuals will attend the training, divided by four (4) per shift, therefore, trining will have an estimated time of three (3) days to cover all shifts.

Question: We would like to know if this is a brand new contract OR if there is (was) an incumbent performing these services. Answer: This is a new requirement.

765 ABS/CONF/PKA has a brand name or equal requirement for a mobile air compressor. The product must be a Bauer dual drive trailer mounted compressor system or equal, as illustrated in Attachment 1 – Product Salient Characteristics. All items must be shipped directly to Lajes Field - AZORES PORTUGAL. The ultimate delivery date of this action should not exceed 150 calendar days and shall accommodate for all action milestones, to include the completion of the onsite OCONUS training.
