Band of the West Featured Jazz Pianist and Drummer

The 502d Contracting Squadron intends to award a firm-fixed-priced purchase order on a sole-source basis to TJS Group LLC for is seeking the services of a professional Guest Jazz Pianist & Drummer. The United States Air Force (USAF) Band of the West is a musical organization whose mission is to inspire immediate and long-lasting morale and esprit de corps for Joint Base San Antonio, Texas (JBSA) and the United States of America.

To support this effort, the Band of the West reaches over six million listeners via live and televised events each year. Under the direction of the Commander, Air Force Bands actively design a wide variety of musical events to bridge language and cultural differences to engage, inform, entertain, and inspire audiences. Bands perform the right music for the right event and utilize performing styles and techniques to establish a sense of commonality and community with targeted audiences.

In support of this mission, the Band of the West is seeking the services of a professional Guest Jazz Pianist & Drummer to feature with the USAF Band of the West at the Annual Jazz SALive in San Antonio, TX. The events will be performed for in-person audiences and will also be recorded for future broadcast on television as well as Air Force media and social media outlets. The Jazz Pianist is required to have the following salient characteristics: National Exposure and Name Recognition.

The Jazz Pianist must have been featured as a performer or had compositions featured on nationally distributed television programs. Association with national television broadcasts will impart music industry professionalism and attract broad interest in the Air and Space Force by leveraging worldwide commercial success and name recognition. Music Industry Leader. The Guest Jazz Pianist must have been recognized as an award-winning artist, such as Grammy, Emmy, Tony.

In addition, the Guest Jazz Pianist must have produced over 30 albums, as an artist with demonstrated accomplishment will attract broad interest in the Air and Space Force across a recruitable demographic by leveraging music industry success and name recognition. Media Reach. Must have at least 10,000 monthly listeners on the Spotify music platform. Must have at least 10,000 subscribers on their official YouTube channel. Must have at least 46,000 followers on Instagram.

Media Reach must be verifiable by providing screenshots that display the required listener, subscriber, and follower numbers. The Guest Jazz Pianist’s social media manager will use the groups social media platforms to impart a positive military image of the Department of Defense and the Band of the West. Period of performance: 23 through 27 September 2024 The proposed action is for delivery of the required product which the Government intends to solicit from one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1).
