Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source - Trane U.S. Inc.

The 502d Contracting Squadron intends to issue a sole-source award to Trane U.S. Inc., (CAGE code: 60532) to perform labor only maintenance on the Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) cooling system supporting the Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) opperating area on Joint Base San Antonio, Fort Sam Houston. The VRF cooling system requires the replacement of 1 compressor and circuit board. The equipment was installed by Trane U.S. Inc., which is still under warranty.

To avoid potentially invalidating the warranty, Trane U.S. Inc., will repair the system. Trane U.S. Inc., is the manufacturer of the Trane brand name VRF cooling system and are licensed technicians to complete repairs.

The purpose of this action is to provide notice of intent for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Trane U.S. Inc., under the authority FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, the Contracting Officer may solicit from one source if the Contracting Officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilizations).

This notice of intent is neither a request for competitive quotes nor a solicitation for offers. Interested persons may identify their interest and capabilities for fulling this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is based solely upon the responses of this notice. Information received will be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement; however, determination is solely within the discretion of the Government.
