3 AEW Generators

Notice of Intent to Award - Sole Source, Cummins Inc. The 673d Contracting Squadron, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska intends to award a firm fixed price, sole source, contract to Cummins Inc, under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. The proposed contract action is for the acquisition of Cummins brand 60RMP-1070A generators.

Due to the status as sole manufacterer for Cummins Inc. model generator that is being requested which matches all the Mil-Spec requirements of the traditionally procured NSN equivalent generators, Cummins Inc. is the only source authorized to provide the generators. The Government is unable to procure the generators through supply as the lead time has been projected to be over three years and that time puts the mission at too severe a risk.

Additionally, the end user has this specific model generator approved on their equipment account listing, and therefore this exact model must be obtained. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition for this simplified acquisition is FAR 6.302-1 Only One responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES AND NO SOLICITATION IS AVAILABLE.

The circumstances of this contract action deem only a single source is reasonably available to fulfill the stated requirement. Interested organizations, who believe they can meet the requirement, may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the requirement in writing to SSgt Jake Montalbano via email at jake.montalbano@us.af.mil and CC MSgt Eric Punjabi at eric.punjabi@us.af.mil by the response date stated in this notice.

A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications will not be accepted in response to this notice. No requests for proposals or quotes will be issued based upon this Notice of Intent.
