This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The solicitation number is 75D30124Q77675 and is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ), unless otherwise indicated herein. The Clinical and Environmental Microbiology Branch (CEMB) is a large lab branch that provides reference antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST), reference identification, genomic characterization, laboratory support for the investigation of outbreaks and other adverse events occurring in healthcare settings, maintains surveillance programs for important pathogens cuasing healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), and develops and optimizes methods to detect and decontaminate pathogenic bacteria from healthcare surfaces, wastewater and medical devices.
As such, the branch utilizes many freezers for the long-term storage of specimens received from public health partners. Freezerworks is a full-featured sample tracking, biorepository management, and freezer inventory program that has the flexibility of a fully configurable LIMS while adhering to laboratory best practices and regulatory requirements.
Freezerworks allows customization and includes audit trail and security features that comply with the CDC Sample Management Policy and other relevant regulations that CEMB must be compliant. This requirement is a Small Business Set-Aside and only qualified offerors may submit bids.
