Laboratory Equipment Preventive Maintenance

The United States Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA), Fort Detrick, Maryland intends to issue a sole source contract to Life Technologies Corporation, a subsidiary of Thermo Fisher Scientific instruments, to provide preventative maintenance of the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) Diagnostic Countermeasures Branch (DCB) owned Thermo Fisher Scientific laboratory instruments.

The equipment requiring services consists of specialized, proprietary laboratory instruments that must be maintained and calibrated by the manufacturer. Only one responsible source provides the unique services required to meet this requirement, and no other type of supplies or services will satisfy the requirements.
