Notice of Intent - USDA-MWA - Cell Analyzer

Notice of Intent to Sole Source:

Requisition: 1134335 - Cytek Guava Muse cell analyzer United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Midwest Area, National Animal Disease Center (MWA-NADC) intends to award on a sole source basis a Firm Fixed Price Purchase Order to Cytek Biosciences, Inc. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this project is 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing with a Size Standard of $1,000 employees.

Cytek Biosciences, Inc. is the sole manufacturer and seller of the Cytek Guava Muse cell analyzer. The Cytek Guava Muse cell analyzer is the only cell analyzer that will satisfy the MWA-NADC’s research requirements. There are multiple vendors that carry cell analyzers/counters; all of which utilize either electrical impedance or direct imaging to analyze samples.

However, these methods either do not allow for cell viability assessment (which MWA-NADC require) or they do not work well with our samples (i.e. peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC)). See attached Limited Source Justification for further details.

This notice is for informational purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. Vendors that believe they can provide the services listed above are invited to submit substantiating documentation in writing to the identified point of contact. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely at the discretion of the Government.
