The Commander Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) Procurement Group, Patuxent River, MD 20670 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Kamatics Corporation, 1330 Blue Hills Ave, Bloomfield, CT 06002 (Cage Code: 50632) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.

The Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) Fleet Support Team (FST) has a requirement for “off-site” services to apply and machine the new KAron liner profile configuration for the F/A-18EFG NLG Steering Collar, Government-owned asset inducted for repair at Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW), Naval Air Station (NAS) North Island, CA 92135-3058. Kamatics Corporation is the only approved vendor with the capability to apply on molded liner per blueprint instructions.

Kamatics Corporation provides KAron coating for the F/A-18 NLG steering collar. KAron is a polyester, thermosetting, resin-based coating incorporating Teflon particles which is tailored to meet specific performance requirements, qualified to aviation military specifications, and is trademarked and proprietary to Kamatics Corporation. For this reason, the government intends to procure these products on a sole source basis from Kamatics Corporation (CAGE Code: 50632).

THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within three (3) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Point of contact for this requirement is Kim Compton at kimberly.a.compton6.civ@us.navy.mil.
