Request for Information: Quantum-Interface-Compatible Photonic Integrated Circuits (QuIC PICs)

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Microsystems Technology Office (MTO) seeks information on the photonic integrated circuit (PIC) needs of quantum technology companies, particularly for systems based on quantum resources such as neutral atoms, trapped ions, color centers, quantum dots, or other matter-based quantum resources, hereafter referred to as “quantum emitters.” DARPA intends to use responses to this Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential opportunities for investment in broadly-applicable foundry platforms to provide an accessible domestic resource for end users of quantum-tailored PICs within the broader quantum manufacturing ecosystem.
