Missile Defense System (MDS) Sea-based X-band Radar (SBX)

The Missile Defense Agency (MDA) is in a transition phase where they are installing new equipment to transition services for Camp Roberts from Commercial Satellite Communication (COMSATCOM) to Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM). At the time of award, a CLIN was included to account for C-band services for Camp Roberts, California, (near Paso Robles, CA) with the intention that this CLIN would not be continued beyond the base period.

However, the transition took longer than expected, and surge was utilized to add an additional CLIN to provide MDA with C-band services at Camp Roberts. The period of performance on the current surge is coming to an end, and MDA needs to extend C-Band satellite services as the transition is still behind schedule. The period of performance for the surge will be extended through November 1, 2024, and optional CLINs will be added for additional extensions. The Justification planned for additional CLINs through 05/01/2025; however, the contractor was only able to provide pricing through 03/01/2025.
