HHS Notice – Protecting Children EO Temporary Restraining Order

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is providing the attached notice of temporary restraining order (TRO) pursuant to a case pending in the U.S. District Court Western District of Washington at Seattle. This case challenges two sections in Executive Order (EO) 14187, Protecting Children from Chemical and Surgical Mutilation (Jan. 28, 2025).

In response to Plaintiffs’ motion, the court has entered a TRO prohibiting certain actions by HHS in the states of Washington, Oregon, and Minnesota and is effective immediately until further order of the court. This notice is being issued pursuant to the Court’s directive to “provide written notice of this Order to all Defendants and agencies and their employees, contractors, and grantees by February 20, 2025.” A copy of the court order is attached for reference.
