The United States Department of Transportation, Volpe National Transportation Systems Center, intends to negotiate a contract on a sole source basis with the Residence Inn in Cambridge Massachusetts, under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) and pursuant to FAR 6.302-1. The contemplated sole source contract will include up to two room blocks, during two separate time frames. The first room block is for up to (12) rooms total from 29 May 2025 (Check In) through 28 June 2025 (Check Out).
The contractor shall make these rooms available at a rate not greater than the Federal Fiscal Year 2025 per diem rate, billed to the Volpe Center. The second requirement is for up to twenty (20) rooms total from 10 July 2025 (Check In) through 17 August 2025 (Check Out). The contractor shall make these rooms available at a rate not greater than the Federal Fiscal Year 2025 per diem rate billed to the Volpe Center.
The Volpe Center anticipates that this effort will be available only from the Residence Inn and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. All rooms shall be at the same premises and shall be within walking distance of the Volpe Center, defined as no more than 0.75 miles from 220 Binney Street, Cambridge, MA. The hotel rooms will be furnished with kitchen amenities at a minimum that include:
a refrigerator, microwave oven, cook top stove /conventional oven, dishwasher, microwave oven, pots & pans, utensils, serving dishes, and silverware. Internet services shall be included as part of the room rate. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source procurement action and is not a request for competitive quotes.
Interested parties must provide evidence of their capability to fulfill this requirement by Apr 25, 2025, 2:30 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, to Ms Melissa Reams, Contract Specialist, by e-mail at melissa.reams@dot.gov. Responses to this notice, if any, must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government. A determination not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government.
Information received will normally be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. US DOT Volpe Center will not reimburse for any costs connected with providing the capability information.
