Centrifugal Blood Pump

The Defense Health Agency intends to solicit and award a Sole Source Firm Fixed award to provide a centrifugal blood pump that has a magnetically levitated impeller designed with no contact points which removes the point of friction that would result in heat and the formation of thrombus (blood clots). The impeller’s design allows for the smooth edges to rinse blood off of the fins of the pump; minimizing trauma to blood. This medical equipment is vital in providing life support to patients.
