Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source - Johnson Controls

NOTICE OF INTENT AND AWARD FROM A SINGLE SOURCE The 502 Contracting Squadron intends to issue a sole-source award to Johnson Controls (cage code: 357J5) to maintain and repair 6 existing Simplex 4100 Series fire alarm panels which are of the same make, model and are proprietary to Johnson Controls. The Simplex 4100 Series fire alarm and life safety systems are proprietary systems and work on the system can only be accomplished by Johnson Control technicians.

The purpose of this action is to provide notice of intent for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source, Johnson Controls, under the authority FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), for purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold, the Contracting Officer may solicit from one source if the Contracting Officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available (e.g., urgency, exclusive licensing agreements, brand-name or industrial mobilizations).

This notice of intent is neither a request for competitive quotes nor a solicitation for offers. Interested persons may identify their interest and capabilities for fulling this requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement is based solely upon the responses of this notice. Information received will be considered for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive requirement; however, determination is solely within the discretion of the Government.
