The CDC intends to sole source to AAALAC International a purchase order for a base and two option periods for participation in the AAALAC International annual accreditation program. In the scientific community, AAALAC International accreditation signifies an institution's commitment to upholding high standards for animal care and use, as well as its dedication to promoting animal welfare in scientific research.
AAALAC International is the sole provider of international accreditation for animal care and use programs, and has gained global recognition as a symbol of excellence and sound scientific practices. This program involves a comprehensive internal review conducted by AAALAC, resulting in a three-year accreditation period.
