Description

As published on SAM.gov.

The mission of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA), an organization within the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) in the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), is to develop medical countermeasures (MCMs) that address the public health and medical consequences of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) accidents, incidents, and attacks; pandemic influenza; and emerging infectious diseases.

BARDA has identified a need to develop standardized radiation dosimetry guidelines for nonclinical models used by research institutions across the BARDA radiation research portfolio. Standardized guidelines leading to dosimetry harmonization across the portfolio are necessary to ensure consistent, accurate data and to facilitate comparison across studies. BARDA is interested in harmonizing radiation dosimetry methodology across the BARDA radiation research portfolio.

BARDA is particularly interested in developing source-independent, standardized dosimetry methods to facilitate harmonization across institutions that collaborate with BARDA on MCM development.
