The Development Outreach and Communications Specialist serves as the Mission's key point of contact for all mission teams, partners, and the Embassy Public Affairs Section in developing and executing the Mission's communication strategy.

S/he works closely with the U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Officer to ensure compliance with media policies for outreach, events, and VIP visits, and collaborates with technical offices and partners to provide oversight and guidance in implementing the Mission's Development Outreach and Communications Strategy.

S/he acts as the main liaison with USAID's Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs and Africa Bureau communications teams, and engages with senior Embassy managers, local and international press, Government of South Sudan officials, and visiting USG officials. Supervises one FSN Communications Specialist.
