STRIDES supports U.S. Government global health security objectives, consistent with the America First Global Health Security Strategy, by strengthening infectious disease detection systems, including: (I) enhancing laboratory and diagnostic capacity at national and sub-national levels; (2) developing and sustaining event-based and indicator-based surveillance systems; (3) building host country capacity for data collection, analysis, and use in decision-making; and (4) providing targeted technical assistance during disease outbreaks.
