Vector Controls Steering Control System Parts

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLICIT SOLE SOURCE. The Government anticipates awarding a firm-fixed price contract on a sole source basis. In accordance with FAR Part 13.5, only one responsible source exist in marketplace and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements for these parts.

The proposed source is Vector Controls, Inc 3 Bridge Street, Suite B100, Newton, MA 02458. The requirement is for the purchase of steering control systems for the 45’ Response Boat Medium (RB-M), 26’ Cutter Boat Over the Horizon IV, and 26’ Cutter Boat Over the Horizon V boats. This anticipated contract will consist of a one-year base period and four one-year option periods. The award will be FOB Destination, with delivery orders to be fulfilled within sixty (60) calendar days of receipt from the Government.

This purchase will be made utilizing procedures in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and FAR Part 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Products and Commercial Services. This notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency. Capability statements must be received by the response date and time of this notice.

Submissions will be reviewed to determine if they can meet the requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that a Request for Quote will be issued to Vector Controls, Inc, and awarded within approximately ten (10) days after the date of the RFQ notice unless the Government determines that any other organization has the capacity to meet this requirement.

The approved Justification and Approval, (J&A), for this requirement will be posted following the award of this requirement.
