Responses will assist the Government in determining the availability of potential solutions and commercial products in the market. At this time no solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the Solicitation.
It is the responsibility of the potential offerors to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this requirement. The USCG, Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) is conducting market research seeking a water resistant replacement for existing Inter Communication System (ICS) cords utilized in the MH-60T and MH-65E helicopters. Specific features and functions required are listed below:
The US Coast Guard, ALC, is seeking an ICS Cord replacement that meets the following requirements: A U94/D8 PTT capable of connecting with a U-92A/U downlead. The PTT shall have an IP67 or greater rating while a downlead is connected. A cord consisting of 10” straight wire, a curly cord retractable section 60” when retracted and approximately 180” when stretched, and another 10” section.
A MS3116E10-6P connector for connection to the aircraft (Pin-out will be provided upon awarding of contract) Connector shall have an over molded back shell for environmental shielding and strain relief purposes. Expectation for an initial run of 10 for testing an evaluation by both product lines followed by a production run of between 320 to 630 additional units. A plan for additional orders to maintain stock can be anticipated as well.
Responses: Responses to this notice should include Company Name, Address, Telephone Number, Point of Contact (POC), and Cage Code. Capabilities statement. Is the solution currently in production? If not, when is the product planned for production? Please provide the details and terms of any standard warranty and support for repair and calibration included with the product. Is your product listed on the General Services Administration (GSA) schedule or the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA)?
If disadvantaged, specify under which disadvantaged group and is your firm certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act? Is your firm a certified hub zone firm, woman-owned or operated or certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned? If so, indicated which apply. Is your business a large or small business and how many employees? What North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code does your company use for this type of supply? If possible, provide warranty information.
Do you have other Government/military agencies using the product, and if so which agencies, point of contacts (POCs) and contract numbers? What additional information would be needed from the USCG to better provide an answer to this sources sought or any potential Request for Proposal (RFP) for this type of solution?
After the review of the responses to this sources sought announcement, and if the USCG still plans to proceed with the acquisition, a solicitation announcement will be published on Contract Opportunities website. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not adequate response to any future solicitation announcements. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation in addition to responding to this source sought synopsis.
