The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) intends to negotiate a contract on a single source basis to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation, Warner Robbins, GA, for the acquisition of an Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR) and Beacon System Replenishment Kit. This kit contains legacy parts used by the National Airspace System (NAS) that are no longer manufactured and are considered obsolete.
These parts will extend the life of a variety of existing systems and parts used to support the NAS and address Diminishing Manufacturer Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) issues. In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System Paragraph 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source via single source procedures.
A market survey (6973GH-25-MS-00002) was posted on the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) website on February 18, 2025 and closed on March 4, 2025. Results of the market survey support a single source award to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation The proposed principle North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this effort is 334511, Search, Detection, Navigation, Guidance, Aeronautical, and Nautical System and Instrument Manufacturing, with a Small Business Size Standard of 1,350.
