The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has awarded contract 6973GH-24-D-00046 for Repair Support of Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) in support of Federal Aviation Administration airport and air traffic surveillance systems. The surveillance systems include but are not limited to the Airport Surface Detection Equipment Model-X (ASDE-X), Wide Area Multi-lateration (WAM), and Airport Surface Surveillance Capability (ASSC).
The contract was awarded for one (1) base year period with four (4) one-year option periods to be exercised at the sole discretion of the FAA. The assets repaired or acquired on this contract are wholly manufactured and repaired by Saab Inc., East Syracuse, NY. The rights to all proprietary information necessary to conduct manufacture, repair, and test of these assets are owned by Saab and have not been authorized for release to any third-party vendors.
As such, Saab is the only qualified and authorized repair source capable of meeting the FAA requirement for serviceable assets used for repair of the WAM, ASDE-X and ASSC surveillance systems. A market survey (6973GH-23-MS-00002) was posted to the System for Award Management (SAM.gov) web site on September 25, 2023. No responses were received in response to the market survey.
Additionally, a Notice of Intent to Single Source was posted to the SAM.gov web site on November 16, 2023. An Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity contract with firm-fixed prices for acquisition, repair and refurbishment services of encoders for use in the ASR-11 radar system has been awarded to Saab Inc., East Syracuse, NY. The Total Estimated Potential Value (TEPV) of the contract, for the base contract and first option period, if exercised, is $4,728,331.20.
