The Defense Health Agency (DHA), Northeastern Markets Contracting Division (NM-CD), on behalf of Department of Nursing located at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, 8901 Wisconsin Avenue, Bethesda, MD, 20889 under the authority of 41 U.S.C.

251 as implemented in FAR 8.405-6(b)(2) – “Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the Agency Requirements,” intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price, Sole Source Delivery Order for the Department of Nursing at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), Bethesda, Maryland.

The Department of Nursing at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) current function is being performed with Baxter Hill-Rom to replace the motor for LIKO Patient Lift System that manufacture and installed by Baxter Hill-Rom, Inc. The current LIKO Patient Lift System currently past manufacture warranty and slowly becoming inoperable which could compromise patient safety.

The Government intends to award a new Delivery Order to Baxter Hill-Rom, Inc., for the replacement of the motor to the current LIKO Patient Lift System required by Department of Nursing at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC). Baxter Hill-Rom, Inc., 1069 State Rte 46 E, Batesville, Indiana, 47006-9167 is the authorized seller of the LIKO Patient Lift System. The total cost for the Delivery Order is estimated at $521,046.08.

The associated NAICS code applicable to this requirement is 339112, Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing. This notice of intent to award a sole source Delivery Order is not a request for competitive proposals. There will be no Request for Quote (RFQ) or Solicitation available for competition. Phone calls will not be accepted. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes; however, the government will consider responses to this notice within five (5) days of this posting.
