Notice of Intent to Sole Source - Solid State Media Disintegrator to Data Security Inc

In accordance with FAR 5.2, this is a notification of a proposed sole-source contract action to Data Security Inc for a Solid State Media Disintegrator. The US Coast Guard, C5I Service Center, intends to solicit and award on a sole source basis under the authority of FAR 8.405-6(a)(1)(B) to Data Security, Inc, 300 S 7TH Street, Lincoln, Nebraska 68508-2401. Data Security Inc is the sole manufacturer and sole provider of the SSMD 2mm Solid State Media Disintegrator.

The US Coast Guard is required to be compliant with Department of Defense (DoD), National Security Administration (NSA) and Coast Guard regulations by ensuring all media is destroyed to a 2mm particle size. This disintegrator is the ONLY approved unit on the NSA Evaluated Products List capable of meeting this need. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency.

Interested vendors may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact no later than 2:00 p.m. ET of 9 August 2024. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government. This notice of intent is NOT a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for competitive quotes.

Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
